Sales of new single-family homes in December 2011 were 307,000 at a seasonally adjusted annual rate, down 2.2 percent from November and down 7.3 percent from December 2010. An estimated 302,000 new homes were sold overall in 2011, 6.2 percent below the 2010 level.
