December 2011 retail and food services sales were $400.6 billion, up 0.1 percent from the previous month and up 6.5 percent from one year ago. Total sales for the full year 2011 were up 7.7 percent from 2010. Excluding autos, retail and food services sales in December were $328.7 billion, down 0.2 percent from November and up 6.0 percent from December 2010. Total sales ex autos for all of 2011 were up 7.3 percent from 2010.
