Construction spending was $811.8 billion in August 2010, 0.4% above July 2010's revised estimate of $808.6 billion but 10.0% below August 2009's level. During the first eight months of this year, construction spending amounted to $539.4 billion, 11.2 percent below $607.5 billion for the same period in 2009.
