MARK E. DOMS Chief Economist Economics and Statistics Administration US Department of Commerce Prior to his appointment as Chief Economist at the Economics and Statistics Administration, Dr. Doms worked as a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and was previously in the Research and Statistics Division of the Board of Governors. He has wide experience with economic and policy analysis on a range of topics. His own research has focused on the effects of technology adoption and innovation, on firm productivity, and on housing market changes. Dr. Doms also spent time at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and in the early 1990s worked at the Center for Economic Studies in Census. He holds a Ph.D in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and B.A. from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in mathematics and economics.
